Mark Montgomery was the youngest of 5 sons to Leland and Hazel Montgomery from Louisiana. Mark worked for many years as a Lighting Director/Technician for various high profile musical bands and entertainers. After leaving the music industry, Mark went back to college and obtained his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from LSU. In 2003, Mark moved to Tennessee where his brother, Larry "Sheriff" Montgomery, was currently living.
Upon moving to Leipers Fork, Mark immediately saw a community need for the Lawnchair Theater when the outdoor stage wasn't in use. Upon permission from the owner, Mark started with a painters tarp, projector and a set of donated speakers from Alex Harvey, Jailhouse Industrys Free Night at the Movies soon began.
Jailhouse Industrys now presents their movies from May through September. Jailhouse Industrys has been featured in Southern Living Magazine, The Tennessean, Talk of the Town, Channel 2 News, Tennessee Mornings, Southern Exposure Magazine and various community papers. When asked why he continued to show movies, Mark said besides enjoying the movies himself, he enjoyed knowing that he was bringing a family oriented venue to the community.
